Before 2020 (before the law on raising the retirement age came into force), citizens of our country had the right to resign and retire 5 years earlier.

So, currently (from January 1, 2020) the retirement age for men is increasing annually until it reaches 65 years, and the retirement age for women will also increase to 60 years in the future.

Who is eligible to receive pre-retirement status in Moscow
Before applying for any social benefit or service, a citizen must officially confirm that he has pre-retirement status. This status is assigned if all 3 conditions below are met:

Documents (the list will be presented below) should be submitted at any “My Documents” center in Moscow . Department specialists will send the papers to the department of social protection of the population (department at the applicant’s place of permanent residence).
The law provides USZN experts with 6 working days to study a citizen’s documents and make a decision on assigning him pre-retirement status or refusing to satisfy the requirements. The first day is considered to be the one following the day of registration of the application in the “My Documents” center (the date will be indicated in the receipt of papers issued by the department employee).
